I offer compassionate, tailored support for adults dealing with anxiety, grief, low self-worth, historical trauma, relationship difficulties, and the challenges of major life change.
About me
I am Susan, an integrative counsellor and psychotherapist, working online across the UK and in person in Southeast London. As an integrative therapist, I have trained in a range of therapy modalities which will inform our work, and recognise that no single therapeutic approach works for everyone. Just as you are a person with diverse experiences, thoughts, and feelings, effective therapy often requires drawing from multiple therapeutic traditions to meet your unique needs. I am skilled in person-centred, Gestalt, psychodynamic, and CBT theories and draw on these according to what's most useful to you.
I work with adults navigating many of life’s complexities, including:
- anxiety
- depression and low mood
- grief and loss
- relationship difficulties, interpersonal challenges
- life transitions (including job changes, relationship loss, perimenopause/menopause, parenting, relocation)
- attachment wounds
- guilt, shame, anger, and the effects of historical trauma
- loneliness and isolation
- low self esteem, low self worth
- identity and existential concerns
- managing neurodivergence
My path to becoming a counsellor began when I was a client myself. Experiencing the healing impact of being seen and heard without judgment is what drew me to therapy, and that experience continues to shape the way I practise today. I also have lived experience of building a life in a place that was not originally home. Living between places and cultures has shaped my understanding of belonging, identity, isolation, and the often-quiet adjustments that accompany significant change.
Through counselling, I support you in developing a deeper understanding of yourself — including who you have been and who you want to be — so that clearer, more grounded steps towards wellbeing can emerge.
