I support individuals and couples with a range of issues, and work with Young People aged 9+. I'm a neurodivergent therapist that brings a creative energy to sessions.
About me
Hi, I’m Marissa, an integrative and relationship counsellor.
Whether you're navigating relationship struggles or just feeling a little lost, I can offer flexible support to suit your needs.
I hold a Foundation Degree in Integrative Counselling for Adults and I am Relate-trained in relationship therapy, with additional qualifications in holistic therapies that support emotional and physical wellbeing.
I can work with you via a range of therapeutic models including person-centred, gestalt, psychodynamic, systemic, solution-focused, and CBT. I offer support to individuals and couples.
I like to think of myself as a general therapist with experience supporting people through a multitude of issues including:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Communication issues
- Resilience
- Neurodiversity
- Family breakdown
- Co-parenting issues
- Intimacy problems
- Communication breakdown
- Affairs
As someone with dyslexia, I tend to view the world through a unique and creative lens, so we could be particularly compatible if you are neurodivergent. I always bring my full, authentic self to therapy sessions and encourage clients to do the same.
If you’re looking to work through problems with an enthusiastic professional in a judgement-free space, please get in touch.
Children's Counselling
Every child is unique, and I work gently at their pace to help them feel safe, heard, and understood. Sessions are tailored to the child’s age and needs, often using creative approaches alongside conversation. These might include:
- Creative activities (drawing, storytelling, play)
- Gentle exploration of feelings
- Building emotional awareness
- Developing healthy coping strategies
My aim is to support children in making sense of their inner world, building confidence, and feeling more secure in themselves.
I tend to start each session with a game. UNO tends to be the favourite but I also have Jenga that has different kinds of questions to help us get to know each other. After this, the sessions are very much led by the children.
Whilst it’s natural for parents and carers to want to be involved as much as they can (I’m a parent myself), the client's confidentiality is my main priority unless there is a safeguarding concern. If it would be helpful for the parent/carer to have more involvement and attend a session together, this will be discussed on review with the child’s permission.
I work with and support children and young people aged 9+
