The difference between stress and anxiety

From a racing heart to sleepless nights, the effects of stress and anxiety can feel very similar. Stress symptoms are usually triggered by a challenging situation and tail off once resolved. But with anxiety, the symptoms persist, driven by excessive worrying that, if left unchecked, can sometimes lead to depression. The good news is that counselling for anxiety can help you find ways to move towards inner peace.

What anxiety feels like

Here are five of the most common symptoms of anxiety:

  • Fearfulness
  • Tension
  • Nervousness
  • A sense of dread
  • Racing thoughts
